I’m Taylor,

And I’m so glad. you are here!

As a therapist, I believe that the soul, not the mind, can recognize your strength, potential and beauty within, and I am passionate about making these qualities visible to all through our work together. I am dedicated to creating an authentic and trusting relationship with each client, using my experience, expertise, and intuition, to explore and help others gain insight and understanding into themselves. I incorporate many proven theories and techniques such as mindfulness interventions and cognitive behavioral techniques; these methods allow me to help my clients focus on the present moment and work through specific unhelpful thoughts and behaviors that cause them to feel “stuck”.

My Experience

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a certified clinical trauma professional with clinical training and expertise in the treatment of mood disorders, trauma, eating disorders, addiction, and anxiety disorders. I received my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health counseling from Mercer University. During that time, I worked as a mental health assistant at both Peachford Hospital and the Ridgeview Institute, where I worked with children and adolescents who were struggling with acute mental illnesses. I also served as an intern for Emory University Hospital at Wesley Woods, where I would conduct individual, group and family therapy with adults who were experiencing acute mental illnesses. Prior to graduate school, I completed my undergraduate work at Georgia State University where I worked as a research assistant on various psychological research studies and as a behavioral coach for adolescents in underperforming high schools. My passion for therapy blossomed in 2014, while working as a case manager for an employee assistance program. During this time, I had the wonderful opportunity of witnessing the transformative power of therapy, and the commitment and dedication that each therapist had for the field. While in this role, the fire within me grew, and I knew that becoming a therapist was the next step in my life.

I have had a variety of experiences that has enriched my ability to provide comprehensive, compassionate and well-informed treatment. Since graduating with my master’s degree, I have been working within the Emory Healthcare system as a clinical therapist, where I have had vast experience working with individuals in inpatient and intensive outpatient levels of care.

In my spare time, I continue to advocate for the mental health profession by being a member of the mental health podcast, BasketcaseMH. The purpose of the podcast is to demystify therapy and destigmatize mental health by talking about the tough issues that we all face personally and as a society. Running this podcast also requires me to continuously stay updated on current research, new theories and new techniques within the field. Choosing the path to therapy and recovery can be exciting and refreshing for some; for others it may feel overwhelming and scary. Both emotions are totally normal and no matter what your thoughts and feelings are, you are not alone. You have made the first step- you are here- and I am honored to join you on this journey!
